What is the process of NEET Counselling 2024?
NEET UG-2024 was conducted on 5th May 2024. The results were declared on 4th June and the revised results were declared on 26th July, 2024. As the results were out, the next important step for the qualified aspirants on their journey towards the medical college is the NEET Counselling 2024. However, most of the new aspirants don’t have any idea about NEET Counselling procedure. Therefore, to help the aspirants, MENIIT brings this blog, “What is the process of NEET counselling 2024?” This blog will provide all the necessary details about NEET Counselling 2024.
MCC, or the Medical Counselling Committee, is the concerned government body that is responsible for the counselling. The NEET Counselling is conducted in multiple sessions/rounds for the allocation of seats in various medical courses, such as MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, and B.Sc. Nursing courses. The allocation of seats depends upon multiple reasons, such as all India rank, state quota, category, etc., which are all discussed in this blog. Other than that, this blog will provide information about the documents required, the registration fee, etc.
The aspirants can get admission into various medical college via the AIQ (All India Quota) and State Quota.
When will the counselling start for NEET UG 2024?
The counselling for NEET UG 2024 is scheduled to start from 14th August 2024. The NEET Counselling is managed by the MCC (Medical Counselling Committee).
Those aspirants who are interested in NEET counselling have to pay a fee of Rs 1000 for UR/OBC/ EWS category and ₹ 500 for SC/ST /PwD category candidates. Aspirants must have qualified and must fulfil the age criteria.
The counselling would be conducted for approximately 1,09,145 MBBS seats, 27,868 BDS seats, and around 1000 B.Sc nursing seats. The NEET counselling duration would be three to four months depending upon the number of vacant seats.
The NEET counselling schedule is given in the table below. As of now, the counselling is scheduled for 3 rounds and one stray round which can further be modified as per the decision of MCC.
