JEE Advanced 2025 Eligibility Criteria Released
IIT-JEE is one of the most difficult exams at the undergraduate level in India as well as in the world. Through this exam, students can get admission into various undergraduate courses such as B.E./B.Tech., B.Sc., etc. in various top technical institutes of the country. IIT-JEE is a two-stage exam; the first one is JEE-Main, and the second is JEE-Advanced. The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts JEE Main twice a year. The first session of the exam is conducted in January, and the second session is conducted in April. Students can take admission into various top government and private colleges like on the basis of JEE Main score. The IITs conduct JEE Advanced. In 2024, IIT-Madras conducted JEE Advanced, and for the year 2025, IIT-Kanpur will conduct JEE Advanced. Students can take admission into various top technical colleges such as IITs, IISc, IISER and many other on the basis of JEE-Advanced score. Recently, IIT-Kanpur has released the press notification regarding the eligibility criteria for JEE Advanced 2025. This eligibility criteria is for the Indian nationals as well as the OCI/PIO candidates who have secured an OCI/PIO card before 4 March 2021 for appearing in JEE Advanced 2025.
JEE Advanced 2025 Eligibility criteria
IIT Kanpur has released 5 eligibility criteria for JEE Advanced 2025. It is important for candidates to fulfill all five criteria simultaneously. Let us look at all five criteria in detail.
- Performance in JEE Main 2025: Candidate should be in the top 2, 50,000 successful candidates in B.E./B.Tech paper of JEE Main 2025.
- Age Limit: Candidates should be born on or after 1 October 2000. However, 5 year of age relaxation is given to SC, ST, and PwD candidates.
- Number of attempts: Candidates can attempt JEE Advanced for a maximum of 3 consecutive times in 3 consecutive years.
- Appearance in class 12th: Candidates should have appeared in class 12th either in 2023 or 2024 or 2025 with PCM as compulsory subjects.
- Earlier admission at IITs: Candidate should not have been selected in any IIT earlier in any course listed under JoSAA Business Rule 2024.
