What is BITSAT exam?
The BITSAT (Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test) is a national-level prestigious entrance examination. It is conducted for admissions to various integrated first degree programmes of BITS Pilani at Pilani Campus, K. K. Birla Goa Campus, and Hyderabad Campus, including the B.E. (Bachelor of Engineering), and B.Pharm. (Bachelor of Pharmacy), and postgraduate M.Sc. (Master of Science).
Conducting Authority: The Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani conducts the BITSAT examination in two sessions every year.
The Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India (GoI), has recognised the Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) as an Institution of Eminence. It is India’s premier institute of higher education and a deemed university.
BITSAT Eligibility Criteria
For admission to the B.E. (Bachelor of Engineering) and M.Sc. (Master of Science) programmes, a candidate must have passed the 12th examination from any recognised Board of India or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) and have adequate proficiency in English.
For admission to B.Pharm. (Bachelor of Pharmacy), a candidate must have passed the 12th examination from any recognised Board of India or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB) and have adequate proficiency in English.
Note: The PCM candidates may also apply for the pharmacy programme.
Marks Eligibility:
The candidate must have obtained a minimum of 75% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) or at least 75% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB).
12th Standard: A candidate must have secured at least 60% marks in each of the Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology subjects in the 12th examination.
Note: 12th-pass or appearing students are both eligible for the BITSAT exam. Candidates who have passed the 12th (intermediate) or equivalent examination in 2022 or earlier are not eligible for BITSAT-2024 (as per the official BITSAT-2024 notification).

Is BITSAT easier than JEE Main?
Yes, the BITSAT exam is easier than JEE Main in terms of level of difficulty. Both exams are challenging and competitive; it is easier to crack the BITSAT compared to the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE)-Main. However, more questions are asked in the BITSAT as compared to the JEE Main.
