Engineering has been one of the most demanding careers of students for a long time, and hence there are a lot of private and government institutes in India that offer a degree in engineering. Admissions to the top government and private colleges are done on the basis of various competitive exams such as JEE Main, JEE Advanced, etc. There are many competitive exams for engineering, but IIT-JEE is the most famous of all of them. It is a two-stage exam, named JEE Main and JEE Advanced. The first stage is JEE Main. Those who clear JEE Main are eligible for JEE Advanced. JEE Main is conducted by the National Testing Agency, NTA, and JEE Advanced is conducted by the IITs. Recently, NTA has released the official calendar of JEE Main 2025. This calendar has all the important dates, including the date of registration and the date of examination.

JEE Main 2025

As said above, JEE Main is the screening test for JEE Advanced. Students of class 12^th and 12^th pass are eligible for JEE Main. For more details on eligibility, students can refer to the official notification released by the NTA. JEE Main is conducted twice a year, in January and in April. The recent calendar released by NTA is for session 1, which is the January session. JEE Main has two papers, Paper 1 and Paper 2. Those students who are interested in B.E./B.Tech. in various government and private institutions appear for Paper 1, and those who are interested in B.Arch./B.Planning appear in Paper 2.

JEE Main is conducted in 13 languages, i.e., Hindi, English, Marathi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Punjabi, Kannada, Malayalam, Odia, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu. There are a total 75 questions in Paper 1, 77 questions in Paper 2A (B.Arch.), and 100 questions in Paper 2B (B.Planning) in JEE Main. For paper 1, students need to prepare three subjects: physics, chemistry, and mathematics, whereas for papers 2 and 3, the subjects are mathematics part 1, aptitude test part 2, and drawing test part 3.

What are the important dates for JEE Mains 2025?

The online registration for JEE Main will start from 28 October 2024 and end on 22 November 2024. The exam for session 1 will be conducted from 22 January 2025 to 31 January 2025.
